Manufacturing Operations Rountable

The Manufacturing Operations Roundtable provides manufacturing executives a forum for discussion of common strategic, operational, financial and technical issues. Its mission is to share experiences and knowledge in order to enable members to develop informed positions affecting policy, methods, and cost optimization.

Peter Polgar
Chairman, Manufacturing Operations Roundtable.

Between October, 1999 and October, 2000 he was the President and Chief

Operating Officer of AmerAmp, a start-up company in the wireless infrastructure

field, developing, designing and manufacturing microwave power amplifiers for

base stations.

From May, 1997 through July, 1999, he was the President and CEO of Qtron, Inc.,

an EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) provider, in San Diego

Prior to working at Qtron, he spent twenty-three years at General Instrument

Corporation (now Motorola) in various high profile management positions. These

included Vice President and General Manager, Microelectronics Europe, in

Glenrothes, Scotland; Corporate Director of Manufacturing, Corporate Director of

Quality, Vice President, Strategic Sourcing Worldwide; Vice President Operations,

Videocipher Division.

Prior to working at Qtron, he spent twenty-three years at General Instrument

Corporation (now Motorola) in various high profile management positions. These

included Vice President and General Manager, Microelectronics Europe, in

A native of Hungary, Mr. Polgar received his BES degree in Electrical Engineering

from Brigham Young University and an MS in Physics from Rutgers University.

He currently chairs Tech San Diego’s Operations Roundtable.

The Senior Manufacturing Operations Roundtable provides senior operations executives an opportunity to meet in a more intimate environment. This Roundtable is held the third Wednesday of every other month.

Gary Eigen
Director of Operations, BAE Systems

Gary Eigen is Director of Operations at BAE Systems in Rancho Bernardo, leading a team that produces avionics test systems for the USAF. Gary’s manufacturing career has spanned 25 years in consumer product, capital equipment and defense companies. He has focused on process optimization as a Six Sigma Blackbelt and Lean specialist. He has a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Mechanical Engineering from MIT.
